Star Wars: Rebellion
1 Year After the Battle of Yavin (1 ABY)
Mos Eisley, the central nerve of Tantoonie. The city was considered the best place to find the scum and villainy of the galaxy. The cantina The Slimy Hutt was the perfect place. It was a seedy bar, much like any spacefarer’s watering hole across the galaxy. Its dim interior lighting and musty air made many spacers feel at home in the old dirty pub. The occupants ranged from the most bizarre of species to the common Human, all sitting at various small tables or in the small booths in the dark corners. In one of those dark corner booths sat a lean human, his green eyes carefully observing the bar, noting certain characters that were sitting around.
Jake Ryker casually glanced down at the dataslate in front of him and wiped away a bit of elba beer from the screen. The old device was worn and covered in scratches from close encounters with blaster fire, but it functioned and that was all Jake cared about. He typed a few more words onto a document and then reviewed the piece.
To all operatives of the Rebel Alliance in the Tantoonie system or any one sympathetic to our cause: Come to the Slimy Hutt within 24 standard hours. Ask the bartender for a split drink and he’ll direct you to me.
-Captain Jake Ryker
It was short and, as Jake thought, lousy, but would do the trick. He tapped a few more keys and the dataslate encoded the message and sent it back to Ryker’s ship to be broadcasted. His task complete, Jake leaned back and began sipping his beer, trying to will his tight muscles to relax. It was now just a game of waiting to see who showed up, if anyone, and then reporting back to Alliance Command. Wherever they were… Ryker grimaced as he thought about the last few years. The destruction of the Deathstar had been a high point for the Alliance but they were still on the run, constantly trying to evade detection by the Empire. The Rebel officer tried to shove the thoughts of the close calls he had had and looked around the bar again.
Mos Eisley was a melting pot for strange races and intergalactic scum. There were many characters from paranoid smugglers to trigger-happy bounty hunters lounging about, minding their own business. Jake eyed a few suspicious characters and returned to his drink. Coming here was a risk, but the Alliance needed a few odd jobs done and Jake had been handed the responsibility. With the signal broadcasting all it would take was one Imperial ship scanning the channels to eventually happen upon his coded message. Once that happened it would become a game of cat and mouse. Jake shook the thoughts off and focused on his dataslate, accessing his database of intel and quietly reviewing what he had to do. He glanced up periodically and looked around, watching, waiting, reading.
Sitting across the bar in another dim, corner booth, a man in dark clothing watched the unaware Jake, a small smile playing across his face. The game was on.
Welcome to Star Wars: Rebellion. You are spacers, whether Rebel affiliates or not, that are responding to an encoded message being broadcasted in the Tantoonie system. Please fill out the dossier located near the bottom and submit as your character sheet. Please review these quick notes:
NOTES ON SPECIES: Anything goes, just no Mandos.
Also NO FORCE SENSITIVES
Keep it reasonable
NOTES ON SKILLS: Skills are basically a characteristic I use to decide whether you succeed or fail an operation. For example, killing 50 stormtroopers without any weapon skills isn’t going to happen, and even then it’d have to be above 2.
Skills:
1 – You are above average and can do the skill
2 – You are pretty good at it
3 – You excel at the skill
4 – You are amazing
NOTES ON PERSONAL WEAPONS:
As long as it's not a missile launcher or something of that class then it's fine. So rifles, sniper rifles, etc... work. Just keep it reasonable
GOOD RESOURCE:
Wookieepedia

One does not simply exist in the galaxy, everyone has held a job at some time or another and that is what makes them useful to the Rebellion. Choosing a career gives you one skill.

Background: Jake spent much of his early life on his homeworld of Coruscant. His life was a simple and happy one with his older brother and parents. Of the pair, Jake was the less intelligent and brave, his brother being the better of the two at everything they did.
When Jake was 10 his older brother left to join the Imperial Navy and the Stormtrooper Corps, putting his excellent skills to use. Without his brother Jake began to flourish, suddenly determined to become just as smart as his brother and join him in the glorious Imperial Army. For 8 years Jake studied and at the age of 18 he applied for the Stormtrooper Corp. However, he failed the test and was instead sent to the Imperial Army. Despite the setback, Jake was determined to make himself into something his parents could be proud of. With that drive Jake rose to the rank of lieutenant by the age of 20 and had his own small command. Deployed to Corellia for garrison work, Jake began to see more of the Empire’s dark side.
A group of rebels was captured and instead of sending them to prison the garrison commander ordered they be executed. As lieutenant, Jake was forced to carry out the order. Unable to cope with the idea of murdering helpless men and women, Jake fled from the Imperial forces and tried to disappear. He fled into the nearby mountains, using his army skills to survive for a few days. The Imperials started a manhunt for the traitor, but never caught him thanks to the Rebel Alliance. Hearing of a defector, the rebels tracked Ryker down in the mountains and brought him back to their base deep in the Corellian mountains. For the next few years Jake helped the Alliance in covert operations on Corellia. He rose to the rank of captain, showing his bravery in several daring raids to gain valuable information. Soon after that, he left Corellia to take the fight to the Empire across the galaxy.
